Brent Godfrey
BOARD MEMBER
Brent Godfrey is a Westerfield Fellow at Loyola University New Orleans College of Law, where he teaches first-year students and developed innovative courses including “Law, Spirituality, and Social Change” and “Lawyering for the Solidarity Economy.” A Yale Law School graduate, Brent brings diverse experience in education, leadership development, and social entrepreneurship to the Community Academies board.
Brent’s background includes service as a firefighter with the New Orleans Fire Department, a naval intelligence officer, and an instructor at the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS). He founded and led Crescent City Corps, a nonprofit dedicated to anti-racist leadership training for first responders. His work focuses on transformative pedagogy and developing leaders committed to community change.
