Alysson Mills
BOARD MEMBER
Alysson Mills is a partner at Fishman Haygood. She practices in federal courts across the nation and in state courts in Mississippi and Louisiana. Mills represents businesses in general commercial litigation cases, investors in securities fraud cases, and clients of all backgrounds in cases implicating the First Amendment. As a member of the Criminal Justice Act panel, she is regularly appointed to represent indigent criminal defendants in federal court. The Louisiana State Bar Association recently named her Outstanding Young Lawyer of the Year.
Mills teaches First Amendment and media law at Tulane University and recently taught a course titled “The First Amendment in 2017” at the University of Mississippi Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors College.
Outside the law, Mills is immediate past-Chair of the Board of Directors of the Lycée Français de la Nouvelle-Orléans and also serves on the governing boards of the American Red Cross (SELA Chapter), the Younger Lawyers Division of the New Orleans Federal Bar Association, and will conclude her Choice Foundation board membership in July of 2019.
